What do you think... will BudgetDesks.com bring a 1000% return on investment? 2000%? Would it bring even more if the content was more interesting that sedo.com's parking junk? Is BudgetDesks.com worth $1399? $699? or just the $7 domain registration cost? Read the debate and let us know your opinion!
Hello,I'm Kathy Wolfe, an Internet developer from Washington, D.C. I am writing to let you know that I am making the domain name BudgetDesks.com available for acquisition. Because I am looking to slim my portfolio of domain names by the end of November, I would be willing to offer it to you below market value for use with your furniture business' online home.
If you would like to consider acquiring this domain name, please reply to this message no later than this coming Friday, Oct. 17. I would be happy to discuss a price that suits your budget. In the event I do not hear from you by that point, I will contact my next BudgetDesks.com candidate. I should note that this domain name is available on a nonexclusive basis.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message. I remain available to answer any questions you might have.
Best, Kathy

just tell me your asking price and why
Thanks for writing. Because of its short, memorable and generic nature I've valued the domain BudgetDesks.com at $1399, however since I'm looking to move it quickly I'm only asking $699, a 50% price cut. Generic domain names in the furniture niche can be quite valuable. As a point of comparison, RolltopDesks.com sold for $30,000; AntiqueDesks.com sold for $2,107, as reported at DNJournal.com. The investor who owns BudgetDesks.NET, a much less valuable extension, has placed it on the market for $640. All this means my asking price for the .COM version is quite a steal. The reason they're valuable, of course, is because generic keyword domains tend to rank much better in search engines than other domains, all of which means more potential traffic to your business. Generic domain names also give your Web presence authority -- if someone's searching for an affordable desk, they're more likely to click on a domain name that describes what they're looking for, rather than BrandXYZ.So, if you're interested please let me know, and do feel free to forward along your best offer. I remain available to answer questions through email, or at 202-997-2675.
Take care.

haha that is pretty funny. The name expired on 9/27... you picked it up on 10/7 for what? $7 or less? Then you did the worst thing you could do.. park it with sedo... so even a search for the domain name itself in Google doesn't return the page it self! Now that is terrible SEO and someone buying it will be starting from below ground zero.
You you were looking to slim your "portfolio" why did you buy a new name? Sounds like a sales pitch out of a domain investing ebook.
I pay $6.95/yr for domain registrations. I'll pay you 10% more for your efforts or $7.65 (so be clear that is seven dollars and sixty five cents).
Seriously, why not put a little content there so at least the search engines pick up the domain itself?
Thanks again for the email. I purchased it intending to develop it myself, but another opportunity came up involving a partner who deals in alternative energy, so I'm committed to focusing my efforts there instead. The timing is largely immaterial. I'm afraid I must decline your offer, but wish you well.Take care.

A client received one of these spams and forwarded to me. Same gal, same spiel. One odd thing is that if she is a web developer, why doesn't she reference her website.
Plus there is the free gmail account she is hiding behind. I wonder if there is a clause in Google's terms about using their service for this type of spam.
You at least got a better sounding domain name offered up, the one she was selling to us had two hyphens in the name!!!
